- Production for the first season started on August 28, 2017.
- After the pilot was reshot and the second episode was filmed, production was halted for 2.5 weeks. It was decided to rewrite the scripts for the remaining 8 episodes to better accommodate the new dynamics between characters after seeing Britt Robertson and Jasmin Savoy Brown in their roles.
- Originally, the season was going to consist of 13 episodes but scheduling issues resulted in the number being reduced to 10.
